This Weekend Marks the Beginning of a New Partnership

This weekend marks an important milestone for Metrolink as Amtrak assumes its role as our new operations contractor on Saturday, June 26, 2010 – taking over the responsibilities previously held by Connex Railroad.

As ambassadors, Metrolink teams have been deployed throughout the system to represent the agency to the public and to our new team members reinforcing our core values – exceptional customer service, an unwavering commitment to public safety and a focus on operational excellence and financial accountability.

Metrolink contracted Amtrak to handle this critical role due to their depth of experience and shared commitment to exceptional public safety.

Amtrak is responsible for the hiring, training, testing and oversight of the engineers and conductors and for ensuring compliance with all safety laws and regulations.

We are pleased to have Amtrak train crews join the Metrolink Team and be our partners in delivering safe, reliable, high-quality public transportation and excellent customer service to our thousands of loyal passengers throughout Southern California.
